IAEA General Conference

IAEA General ConferenceThe General Conference is the highest policymaking body of the IAEA. It is composed of representatives of all Member States of the Agency. The General Conference meets annually, typically in September, to consider and approve the Agency's programme and budget and to decide on other matters brought before it by the Board of Governors, the Director General, or Member States.

The Annual IAEA General Conference

The 55th Annual Regular Session of the IAEA General Conference took place 19-23 September 2011 in Vienna, Austria. The 56th Regular Session is set for 17-21 September 2012 at the Vienna International Centre, where high-ranking officials and representatives from IAEA Member States will consider a range of issues. Details about the agenda and sessions will be posted as soon as they become available.

Scientific Forum at the General Conference

The next Scientific Forum is convening 18-19 September 2011. More details will become available over the coming months.

Exhibitions

Member States and accredited organizations wishing to take part in the exhibition - usually set up as a side event to the General Conference - were kindly invited to submit their space requests in advance. For the 55th General Conference, the deadline for submission was 15 June 2011.

Relevant information and specifications shall be made available to the prospective exhibitors in due course. It should be noted that specific stands may not be automatically reserved every year by one Member State, but will be assigned by Conference Services on a rotational basis. Registration

Only designated representatives from IAEA Member States and invited non-member States and organizations may register for the IAEA General Conference. View Registration Form.
