How to navigate the IAEA.org web site
November 2003 | The IAEA has redesigned and restructured its public web site.
Previously known as "WorldAtom", the site has now been renamed IAEA.org, and the directory structure has been changed accordingly. Pages containing related information have been consolidated and reorganized into more logical groupings. In many cases, existing content was rewritten and/or new content added to further enhance the new sections.
Existing users of the IAEA web site will probably need some time to get accustomed to the new site structure and may have to browse a little longer to find information they have bookmarked or saved from the previous site. We hope the information below will aid users in adjusting quickly to this transition
New site sections
The IAEA.org site has 5 regular and 1 special sections that houses the information being offered on the site. They are:
- About IAEA
Contains general information about the IAEA, including links to headquarters and staff information, the Statute, the IAEA's history, Policymaking Bodies, and jobs and business opportunites at the IAEA. - Our Work
Contains information on the three pillars of the IAEA's work: in safeguards and verification, safety and security, and science and technology. This section is also a gateway to programme and departmental web sites within the IAEA, whose work and activties fall within any one of the pillars. - News Center
For links to IAEA news stories, special features, focus pages and the meetings calendar. The section additionally contains links to press releases, media advisories, Director General statements, transcripts, and multimedia resources. - Publications
To access official IAEA records including the Annual Report, Information Circulars, Legal Agreements, and General Conference documents. The section also links to the IAEA Publications catalogue, booklets, factsheets, magazines, safety standards, newsletters and journals. - Data Center (NUCLEUS)
NUCLEUS is the common access point to the IAEA´s scientific, technical and regulatory information resources. It incorporates, and facilitates access to about 100 IAEA databases, scientific and technical publications as well as safety standards. - Resources (Special Section)
Contains specially-created pages targeted to specific user groups: Journalists, Member States, Women, and Youth. These are intended as one-stop gateways to information of interest to specific types of users.
