Past NPT Review Conferences
The 2010 Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) was held from 3 to 28 May 2010 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York under the presidency of Ambassador Libran N. Cabactulan of the Philippines.
The eighth Review Conference since the first in 1975, the 2010 Review Conference also marked the 11-year anniversary of the NPT´s indefinite extension agreed to in 1995.

The 2005 Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation
of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) was held from 2 to 27 May 2005 at the United
Nations Headquarters in New York under the presidency of Ambassador Sergio
de Queiroz Duarte from Brazil.
The seventh Review Conference since the first in 1975, the 2005 Review Conference also marked the 10-year anniversary of the NPT´s indefinite extension agreed to in 1995.

Crowning a fifteen-year international effort to produce a consensus, States
Parties to the Treaty on Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) have
come to an agreement that there should be "an unequivocal undertaking
by the nuclear weapon States to accomplish the total elimination of their

The 2000 NPT Review Conference is the first to meet since the Treaty's indefinite extension in 1995. Serving as Conference President is Mr. Abdallah Baali, Permanent Representative of Algeria to the United Nations.

1995 Review and Extension Conference
25 years after its entry into force, the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation
of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) has been extended for an indefinite period of
time.
The decision was reached at the 1995 NPT Review and Extension Conference held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from 17 April to 12 May.
While unable to adopt a Final Declaration, the States Parties of the NPT adopted a package of decisions including a decision on "Strengthening the Review Process for the Treaty"; "Principles and Objectives for Nuclear Non-Proliferation and Disarmament"; and a resolution on the Middle East.
Ambassador Jayantha Dhanapala, of Sri Lanka, was President of the Conference.
